Raw Fish? Seriously?

I have to admit that it took me a few tries to get into sushi. My first experience wasn't great. My second one was only slightly better. But it was the third time that was the charm. I don't know what was different about it- the preparation, the company I was in, the food itself? I don't know. But it was enough to get me hooked on the stuff.

I am learning how to make it myself, and that is almost as much fun as eating it.

I am mainly working on getting the structure right before moving on to actual raw fish. Unfortunately I have a tiny kitchen that is not conducive to sushi making without some help. So I am still working on getting that part right. But I have taken the opportunity to make so interesting rolls. Like one with shredded barbecue chicken and green onions. Hopefully the kitchen situation will be resolved shortly and then there will be much sushi making.

I also enjoy making sushi.
It's great to go to your local fishmonger and pick out a nice piece of tuna or salmon, make good friends with him and youll get a good deal! =)

I think I know what you mean.
When I think of sushi, I think of raw fish and the fear of getting some sort of infection.
However, I recently forced myself to try it out. First few tries were slightly nerve wrecking. But I got used to it after a while. It's amazing!
Good luck in learning how to make it! :)
