I was just remembering when we were kids, we lived in upstate New York. It was farm area and everyone (a lot of people) owned countless acreage. The people who we bought our old victorian house from (built in 1899) owned 26 acres and sold us 3 acres. Since they moved out of state, we kind of used all 26 acres to play and then all the neighbors acreage as well.

There was so much wild life there, deers, bunnies, and everyone's farm animals, and more. We had a pond, river, and stream running through the grounds so there was much for a kid to do. I remember specifically when I was walking through the woods, talking to God everyday. The closeness to Him when in nature is beautiful! I felt as if I lived in the Garden of Eden, it was an amazing experience.

My entire family is thankful that we had those years in that house and on that property. My brother has gone back there several times and has made friends with the new owners, kind of funny. He had taken beautiful pictures of the old victorian house (red brick with black slate roofing) and had it printed out and put into frames for each of us one Christmas. He gave my parents about 5 or 6 different pics at interesting angles to hang on their wall in their now Southwestern Style Home (yuck). Lol.

Yes, if you want to "feel" the Lord's presence, walk through nature by yourself and talk to Him. It's exhilerating!

    Psalm 50:1-3

1 The Lord, the Mighty One, is God, and he has spoken; he has summoned all humanity from where the sun rises to where it sets. 2 From Mount Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines in glorious radiance. 3 Our God approaches, and he is not silent.

I'm glad I came across this writing. I used to walk miles and miles through parks and deeper places also. At first I walked as a visitor, curious, a sightsee- er. Eventually there was a transformation. It was good, very, very good and I still can't put it into coherent words, or at least I don't want to. Maybe this though: when not there now, I am more the visitor, sightsee-er, etc.

All of the walks that you and I did while I was grieving from the loss of my wife and child meant the world to me. The times we stopped at a park bench and prayed, the times we'd just sit and listen to the wind in the trees, all of that helped me get through the worst time of my life. I'm thankful that I am ex-military. The long walks weren't bad, but getting through the pain of loss was the hardest walk of all. Now, I value my private walks in the park with God thanks to you Dr. Wilde.

That is beautiful. I do the same thing and I tell my husband when I'm leaving the house that I'm going on a Walk-Talk. I also talk a lot to God when I drive (when the kids aren't with me). It's our special time.

Do you listen to KLOVE Christian Radio? I love praising the Lord with KLOVE in my car and singing to the Lord. Check out KLOVE dot com and see if they are in your area. If not, you can access them through their website. They have a huge prayer ministry and I forward many prayers to KLOVE. We need to be covered in prayer and it helps to have someone else pray for us and our loved ones especially when we are enduring a trial.

Here's the scripture Verse for the Day From Biblegateway dot com:

“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” Romans 14:8 NIV

    Blessings to you, Sister.

Thank you. I usual pray while I'm in the car (if I am alone) or I will listen to classical music. People in Texas drive like maniacs so I am usually listening to soothing music when I drive.
