Felt So Alive

We had a big snowstorm recently, which is something we don't get too often.  Anyway I got up early to let the dogs out to do their business.

It was dark, no one was around, and there was snow everywhere.  I ******** down and stepped out onto the porch.  I hooked the first dog out and then stood there while he did his thing.

It was COLD and the wind was biting.  I could feel it on every part of my body.  It was a great feeling - exhilarating and exciting.  Then as I was hooking up the second dog, my wife stepped out with me.

"What are you doing?" she asked.  "Aren't you cold?"

"Yes," I said.

She bobbed her head to the side, shrugged, and ******** off the t-shirt and shorts she had put on to check on me.  We stood there - shivering but loving it - for a couple more minutes before the dog was done.  I would have liked to have stayed a little longer with the crisp air and the chilly wind.

We stepped back in and went upstairs.  I carried my clothes up to the bedroom and slipped under the covers to get warm.  Even after I was out of the icy wind I still felt the thrill of the wind on my body.
