Things That Ruin My Library Experience

I go to the big main library in the city. Maybe once a week if I can. It's a 30 minute drive from where I live.. like most things are.

I enjoy it...but there are some things that I absolutely can not stand.

  1. when the highschoolers flood in

  2. people who hog the computers to play on Facebook. Not that I ever use the internet-connected computers (only catalogue computers) but I see other people waiting, looks like they have REAL work to do, but they have to wait forever for these dumb kids to get off of myspace or even playing computer games (solitare, gems, etc)!

  3. People who can't use their inside voices

  4. Looking up an available book in the catalogue and finding it's not there (someone probably took it and placed it somewhere else in the library because they were to lazy to return it to its rightful place.)

  6. People talking on their cellphones with their outside voice.

  7. When someone's ringtone shatters the soothing silence.

  8. People who are just lingering..not really doing anything. I hate when some guy starts following me around and tryies to strike up a conversation. (I'm not here to talk to people! i want to find some books!! Leave me alone.)

I'm sure there are more, but here are just a few.  What are your library petpeeves?
