    No offense, but I think you're confusing 'being infatuated' with 'being in lust' and 'being in love.' What you are describing happens in the beginning of a relationship, but if you are fortunate enough to 'get with' the person that excites you, then something much deeper and profound happens to you over time as you become more intimately acquainted, and that is what most people describe as love.



    I don't think it's possible to keep that same spark of initial attraction with the same person after years and decades (I'm sure many will disagree with this because they will say that they are still very attracted to their partners, maybe even more-so, but I would still contend that the later attraction is different than the initial attraction which is filled with mystery and possibility) but what comes of it is much more meaningful and fulfilling.
