The Way She Feels-between The Trees

She's upset
Bad day
Heads for the dresser drawer to
Drive her pain away
Nothing good can come of this.
She opens it there's nothing
There is only left over tears
Mom and dad had no right she screams
As the anger runs down both of her cheeks.

Then she closed her eyes
And found relief in a knife
The blood flows as she cries

All alone the way she feels
Left alone to deal with all the pain-drenched sorrowed relief
Bite the lip, just forget the bleeding

Then she closed her eyes
And found relief in a knife
The blood flows she cries [x2]

Curled up she's on the floor
Relief left her she had hoped for something more
From it (hoped for something more)
From it
He leans down to comfort her
She is weeping and He
Wraps His arms around
And around and around and...
The deeper you cut
The deeper I hurt
The deeper you cut
It only gets worse

Now she's slowly opening...
New eyes...

Then she opened her eyes
And found relief through His life
And put down her knives

Then she opened her life
And found relief through His eyes
And put down
She put down her life

This song helps calm me down and makes me not want to self harm for the moment. I'm glad that someone else knows this song and loves it too. :)

No problem =]] Glad we have somewhat of the same taste in music!

Haha glad to be of service! And I appreciate all of your suggestions too =)

Lol. I dont love all of it, a few artists and a few songs here and there. I can not stand the classic country thats all about how 'my wife left me, my dog died, and my truck broke down'. lol.<br />
<br />
I've always loved evanescence! I've never listened to Lacuna Coil, I shall look into them as well lol. You're just giving me all sorts of new music! Love it! I agree, the guy from Coheed is so big and hair yet he has such a high pitched voice..so odd.

Wow, that is everything! I have to say I kind of have a thing against country... guess it comes from growing up in a hick, racist town I've been waiting my whole life to get out of. <br />
<br />
But! I love, love, love Evanescence!! They are great and are very similar to my all time favorite band- Lacuna Coil. I was really into Dashboard in high school and I likeCoheed too... even though I think that they sound like girls sometime ;-p

I used to listen to a lot of screamo music, and I look back and I have no idea what I was thinking lol. I just cant stand listening to it anymore. <br />
<br />
I knew switchfoot was big with them, I think the lead singer was one of the first to wear a shirt from them..but I could be wrong. I'll have to look at the mewithoutyou song, I've never heard it. <br />
<br />
I downloaded a bunch of switchfoot stuff last night..new favorites are Concrete Girl, Love is the Movement, and Lonely Nation =]]<br />
<br />
I listen to just about everything..literally..Eminem, Kenny Chesney, Evanescence, Dashboard Confessional, Lil Wayne, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Coheed and Cambria..just to name a few lol.

Yeah pretty much... I like a lot of classic rock because that's what I grew up on, but when it's my choice, it's usually alternative all the way. I used to be more into the metal end of it (more symphonic than scream-o), but I've mellowed in the past few years, so I like a lot of the calmer stuff now too.<br />
<br />
Switchfoot is big with TWLOHA actually. They support it at all their shows. My roommate turned me on to them and they're quite good. Another friend had told me about Pedro (even before I had read about Renee's story) and Mewithoutyou, whom I really, really like. My favorite is "In a Sweater Poorly Knit."<br />
<br />
What's your main style of listening pleasure? ;-p

I never knew that switchfoot had a song in support of TWLOHA I'm definitely going to check it out now..literally right now lol.<br />
I actually have a few pedro songs downloaded at the moment becasue in the story renee talks about them lol. and I think a few mewithoutyou..maybe lol. <br />
<br />
do you mosstly listen to alternative?

Sweet, I'll check them out! Thanks for all of the suggestions. =)<br />
<br />
My favorite Switchfoot songs are "Love is the Movement" (in support of TWLOHA), "Amy's Song," and "Let That Be Enough."<br />
<br />
Anberlin, Mewithoutyou, and Pedro and the Lion are also awesome alternatives if you're interested ;-p

Lol, I thought you might like those as well. Look up the lyrics for The fort or Fairweather..I think you might like one of those too!!<br />
<br />
I dont know a lot of switchfoot, but the songs I do know I really like!!

I have heard "A Time for Yohe" and it really is beautiful as well... My name is actually Renee, so it's quite personal for me. I just looked up "The Greatest of These" and I really like it. "You Cry a Tear To Start a River" is really different, but it's growing on me! =)<br />
<br />
Do you know a lot of Switchfoot stuff? I think you would really like them! Just a suggestion ;-p

yea, I do too, but I've recently started listening to their other songs. I just love them. You should try a time for yohe (its actually written about Renee Yohe, who TWLOHA is based on) or the greatest of these (a little love) or you cry a tear to start a river.<br />
<br />
I LOVE words and Spain too! I think Words is my favorite after the way she feels and a time for yohe.

Well, I found out about them through this song (I used to be a cutter) and looked up some of their other stuff after that. I usually like a little bit of a heavier beat, but the lyrics are so beautiful that I have found myself listening to them more and more. I really like "Words" for it's message and I love "Spain" just because it's fun and I am completely obsessed with Spain as it is! <br />
<br />
I put them together with switchfoot in my mind, so they usually get mixed together on my youtube playlists. Any other good song suggestions for me?? =)

I love the song as well!! I'm glad someone else loves it too =] Do you listen to any of their other music?

Excellent Song. TWLOHA is such an amazing movement and this song represents it so well.
