Greatest American Hero

Loved this intro from The Greatest American Hero back in the early 80's. I find myself singing this song from time to time.

Believe it or not I'm walking on air.... OMG, bring back great memories.... And Connie Sellicca... hehehe. Thanks for the memories... :-)

I love 40 Year Old Virgin and just realized that song was in the movie.

One of my favourite shows growing up.
The main character's name was originally Ralph Hinkley, but after the assassination attempt of Ronald Reagan by John Hinckley, Jr. on March 30, 1981, the character's last name was changed to "Hanley". For the rest of the 1st season, he was either "Ralph" or "Mister H" (a style of nickname popularized by Fonzie's calling the Cunningham parents "Mr. and Mrs. C" on the contemporary series Happy Days). In the episode where Ralph is given a promotion and his own office space, we see the name "Ralph Hanley" on the door plaque. At the start of the 2nd season the name had changed back to Hinkley. In Season 3 episode 7 "Live At Eleven" Ralph is given a name tag at a political rally with his last name spelled "Hunkley" and Ralph gives up saying "it's close enough for politics"

Don't tell me you just happen to know all that by chance.

Well i knew some of the details but not exactly so I asked my friend Wikipedia :)
One thing it left out was that in that first season after the assassination attempt they would sometimes have loud noises happen when someone said his name to cover it up like a boat horn or construction or something of the sort

Good to know, otherwise it would be a bit odd to know that much about that particular show. Not that it would be bad...just odd.

Don't we all love our friend Wikipedia.....brilliant friend they are with such vast knowledge. Genius really.

Ya it would be kind of odd but I used to watch that show religiously every week and would never miss an episode because we did not have a VCR back then so waiting for reruns would suck.

I kind of wish they had picked up the spin off it was interesting

Wow! it was a real show. Had to Google it as I had never heard of it.

Lol...Yes really! Guess I wasn't too tuned into TV at that time.

Oh, yeah! "Believe it or not, I'm walking on air, I never thought I could feel so free. Flying away on a wing and a prayer, who could it be? Believe it or not, it's just me."

That was from memory. And you're right, shows have changed, in some good ways and some not so good.

Ha! Ha! I remember watching that show! And, yes, the tune does get stuck in my head from time to time too!

They don't make shows like that anymore. I can kind of see why too. Lol.
