And Tornadoes

surprise I was 5 years old when I experienced my first tornado.  Outside, I saw my mother looking at the sky and I asked "what are you looking at mama?"  She pointed to the southwest and said look at that cloud.  I could see where the sky had separated in the horizon - part black, and part yellow with a touch of red.  Amazing.  This dark cloud soon turned into a twister. COOL!!!!!

The wind pick up, it started to rain and mama said we better get inside.

We all "hunkered" down in the middle of the house with my mom's protective arm around us kids.  The the wind went wild and all kinds of stuff went flying by the windows - furniture, toys, trash...  I wasn't scared, though, because my mother wasn't scared.

This lasted about 5 minutes and we went outside to look at the devastation.  I was amazed at what I saw.  Huge oak trees uprooted and the bed covers had been sucked out of the window and were wrapped around a fence.  COOL!!!

I experienced several more of these twisters while growing up.  I know these storms can be killers, so I certainly don't wish for one to happen, but if it does, I'll just enjoy the thrill of it.  cool

God bless.
