Photographs and Criticism

i seem to always be looking too closely and taking pictures of things that no one notices

sure these things are unorthodox and often "meaningless" looking, but really, the neat things you find and that nature creates can be interesting and just as meaningful as other things

i'm tired of people judging some of my photographs just because "its just a tree" "its just an empty bottle and a road"

I know exactly how you feel... I love to photograph the unoticably awesome things that I see. Everyone just kinda tilts their head and is like "huh?"

Ha. Well those are obviously some pretty visually ignorant types commenting on your photographs! Then again, I have a number of photographs of debris, manhole covers and a strange little series I did using a slightly longer exposure and a phonebox. So perhaps I'm not all that ob<x>jective on the matter! But better than taking photographs of the same stuff that everyone else takes photos of. :D Also, if you do go to on to become a doctor, your penchant for *looking* will serve you very well, I think.
