What Can Yoga Do For You?

Yoga is a blessing. After a short session of yoga, you feel warmth/blood rushing through your whole body, and your mind settles into a place of tranquility.

Yoga is good for your physical and mental health. However, when it comes to weight loss. Well, you need to combine different types of aerobic exercises with your yoga because, while yoga seems to maintain your weight, it does not burn enough calories for you to lose the pounds.

I have been doing yoga, on and off, since I was 21 years old. I am now in my 30's. It was self taught, never took any classes. I found, in time, the body teachers itself the exercises. I've kept it simple and have not gone into more advanced yoga. Advanced yoga, in my opinion, requires professional instruction.

I am trying to combine exercise with a physioball with my yoga routine. Let's see how it turns out in a couple of days.

I do yoga and kick boxing

I've just started doing yoga in my fifties. I was amazed how something so calming and relaxing can actually give you such a good feeling and work the muscles and joints. I'm having proper lessons and really enjoying it.
I mix it with other aerobic exercise, power walks and badminton.
