Because of where I work, I'm required to wear a skirt suitor pant suit everyday. The menhave to wear suits and ties. This was the greatest day of my life when they offered me a job.
The owner of the galleries was well aware of my being a transexual, so when he said I would have to wear skirts and dress nice, I can't even describe the elation that I felt! Here was little ol me, in my own office in a fantastic art gallery, HAVING to wear hose and heels!
At least five days a week I get to be myself, and, get paid for it.
My makeup skills are allmost legendary in Santa Fe now, and I have my own client list that rivals the owners because of what they require at work.

So lucky. You get to live in Santa Fe, work in a gallery and be who you are. That would be a dream job. I fell in love with your city (and Taos) a few years ago when a good freindly introduced me to gallery hopping.

Rachel, such a wonderful story, but even better that you are able to dress as you want at work. I would love to be allowed to do the same, but it won't happen. At least I can enjoy reading about your life and how my dreams have come true for someone as beautiful as you. Kisses all over for you!

Wow. To get paid and dress as you like must be wonderful. I can only dress and go out once a month or less. My wife does not accept my feminine side nor would my boss.

Hi Rachel,

You are just so lucky, not just any old office job,! I travel a lot for my work in tropical countries and would need an enormous amount of confidence to achieve what you have. I knew art was fun but this takes it to a new level. Perhaps my interest in photography might one day yield similar results. Just got to keep taking those hormones!
