i used lemon juice and chamomile to lighten my hair until my mom and gramma thought i was old enough to use the temp stuff at 14. then at 16 i was finally able to dye it. i was thrilled! it has been every color combo you can name. it's green/blue right now. i may be addicted. i love the burn of the bleach, the texture of the color as you massage it in. even the smell. also, and probably the real reason i do it, the liberation of always being able to change how you are perceived. to not be recognized. to assume another role. maybe i'm sociopathic, or antisocial. or maybe i just embrace new experiences. whatever the case, i love trying to decide what comes next........
