Dancing Barefoot

The place where I do my yoga class usually have "Old-Time" dance events on Sunday nights but I'm never able to go. For one night only, they had the event tonight. Of course, my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to see what that was all about. As always, I walked to the state park barefoot and when I got to the pavilion, there were maybe about 10 people there and I was the only one that was barefoot. As first, I was shy because I only wanted to watch and I've never danced any waltz or any type of old-fashion music before. I asked the instructor if it's ok if I dance barefoot and he says that dancing barefoot is an old-time honored tradition. Let's just say that when it comes to dancing, I suck big time but since I was barefoot, I was able to move around more swiftly. Also because I was barefoot, I learned to waltz really quickly. They spreaded some sawdust on the floor and believe me, it felt great for my soles. If I ever try dancing to old-fashion country music again, I'll definetly be barefoot.

That is very cool! And brave! It is one thing to walk around barefoot and hope no one notices you. It is another to actively engage yourself in an activity that is going to draw attention to your bare feet! I mean, every one is looking down! You must've gotten some looks. I hope they were all good!!

Actually, no one gave me any looks. Everyone was more interested in learning how to dance. Whether I go back is another story. It's not because I went there barefoot, it's that I suck at dancing.

Sounds like fun :)
