Douglas Adams did that famously with a friend. He and a friend lay there, pissed, and gazed up. It must have been a clear night and the skies were deep, dark, mysterious and speckled with the Milky Way. They wondered what all the constellations were, as per normal, and then someone remarked that wouldn't it be nice if there was a hitchhiker's guide to this.
