The Night Sky

In the warm summer months, after everyone's in bed and the house is quiet, I love to sit out on the back deck and stare at the sky. The stars, the moon, the silhouette of the trees against the darkness of the night. Somehow, the night gives everything a mysterious quality. The glow of the pale moon light against ordinary objects seems to transform them into things of enigmatic beauty. The quiet of the night amplifies the swoosh and swaying of the trees as they're gently caressed by the breeze.

I love to watch the twinkling stars, stare at the pallid moon and wonder how many others are looking at the exact same image as me. Somehow, the night sky makes me feel connected to the rest of the world. It's comforting to know that no matter where you are, the stars are the same.
