I enjoy reading fiction. A good book should make the creative mind explode (or cringe in terror)with new ideas and possibilities. My favorite writers are: Ray Bradbury, J.K. Rowling, Stephen King (favorite books are the Dark Tower series), JRR Tolkien, Dean Koontz, William Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Jack London, CS Lewis, Robert Jordan and Frank Peretti.

i like a lot of those you mentioned-- the only book that ever really scared the holy h*ll out of me was Stephen King's "The Shining." Robin Cook is another one who is great for psychological thrillers, as is Michael Crichton.

Hmm... did you ever try Isaac Asimov? Somewhat older stuff, but I like both his work and Ray Bradbury's. I've read some Tolkien and CS Lewis too but they're a little heavy and gloomy for my taste (and so are Poe and King, of course). A few you listed, I'm not familiar with; maybe I ought to check those out (as soon as I do all the other stuff that I "should" do even more, sigh.)
