I Love to See Old Married Couples Hold Hands
I saw such love in my parents....they made a very cute couple...Not that they didn't fight...or argue...but I think arguing and fights show that the relationship or the bond is alive...! When there is no love left....silence takes over the fights! The icy, chilling silence!!!....of total indifference...."I care a damn" kind!
Well....My parents had an arranged marriage...but their love and understanding was amazing! They understood each other without words....SO fine tuned they were.....They always celebrated NOT JUST their anniversary but even the date when they first met! We had a fixed menu for meal that day- which was the same they ate when they first met...!
My dad was bedridden with stroke during the last few years...but mom would cook the same menu till he was alive on their BIG DAY....Interestingly it was...DEC 3rd.....and coincidentally,many years later I too found my love on the same day!! ( I mean- I confessed to my love....that I held back since my boyfriend and I had parted ways were married but didn't know that both were unhappy in life) !
It was so touching to see them together...as she would cajole him to take a few steps during his physiotherapy sessions...He'd look at her.....helpless..and smile..and again try hard to take few steps....for HER sake...to see that smile on her lips to see him walk again!There were times when he'd lose patience and get angry and sulk...but she would be so calm....treat him like her baby... and fuss over him....coaxing him to eat his food...to take his physio. sessions ... to swallow his medicines- which he would do for her sake...reluctantly...!
They rarely held hands...or hugged each other in front of others...but their love needed no words...no actions...Their eyes could convey their emotions better than all words or actions...I'm so proud to be their child......!
Today, they both are gone....and I'm sure they are watching me as I share their beautiful love story with my EP friends...Sadly, I didn't have that kind of love in life till I confessed to my boyfriend...but now I have dreams...hopes....and look forward to my new found love...! It has rekindled my belief in love...Love that lasts lifetime..and beyond.......!!!
