It Relaxes Me And Helps Me Think.

I write to help myself think. Seeing the words on paper or on the computer screen helps me process them better, to see what I should say next. But sometimes I just have a huge brain block and can't think. The only cure for that is for me to put on a comfortable pair of shoes and go for a long walk. I grew up in a rural area, so I did this a lot...just disappear into the woods and lose myself for a few hours...wander around listening to the birds, watching the animals, just feeling the breeze in my hair as I pondered things. I live in a huge city now, with some very dangerous areas, so I have to be careful where I wander. So sometimes now I'll drive somewhere, like a national park or the beach or somewhere, and walk from there. And sometimes I walk until my legs feel so tired I can't go any further, but then have to turn around and walk back. That's not so fun, but once I do get back, I can totally relax. All my problems have been fixed, my mind is clear, and my body just wants to rest. That's the greatest feeling in the world for me, to be able to sit or lay down and just completely relax.
