I bought a new dress for a party, very slim and sexy but when I modeled it for my mother she insisted I wear a girdle under it. She said I kind of stuck out in certain places even though I had on control top pantyhose. I was 16 and I didn't own a girdle but she had quite a few and wore them regularly. We were about the same size and after trying on a several we settled on an open-bottom, high waist (I learned on EP that it would be an OBHW) but I needed stockings to hold it down and it was Mom to the rescue again. When I was finally dressed and ready to go I have to say I did look good, and realized that it felt good too.
My boyfriend was happy with it too. It made things easier than with pantyhose.
Today I own several girdles and do wear them occasionally when I feel I'm "sticking out in certain places".

It has been several months since I commented on hurdles here. I have had a crazy fun week shopping and pampering myself as a result of my boss giving me a bonus and holiday for a job well done. So yesterday in the early afternoon I stopped at a costume shop with vintage clothes on Central Avenue in the college district in Albuquerque (Non Hill) and found three wonderful hurdles from the late 1950's.
One was an all in one and the other two were high waisted, but all were open bottom little gems.
My friend Yve and I were out until 4:00 AM, and I have been lounging in one of them for the last three hours totally distracted from getting to sleep.

zoero - Wonderful story. You are really helping spread the positive word that wearing girdles are really great. Eventually once you start to really become accustomed to wearing a girdle you will find shortly that you will start to wear a girdle every day, you even get to the point where you wear a girdle just relaxing around the house and you will love how you look and feel in a girdle which lots of positive energy and confidence.

I think a woman in a girdle is so sexy. It looks great and leaves something to the imagination. So happy to hear you still love them. Foundations seem to be on a comeback. but they don't have the style of the vintage ones. send us photos of you in your girdle.

Well I see we don't need to preach to the choir girls a gurlz. I have I think seven or eight OBG. I fell in love with them years ago. My first one was actually somewhat short so I could wear it out of the 'Lady Grace' store years ago, way before I started dressing en femme in public.
The store manager was so understanding and she helped me pick out several pretty pairs of panties and several pairs of stockings, one of each which I wore with the OBG under my pants home that late afternoon.
She was really sweet as she suggested I stop into the women's shoe store at the other end of the ***** mall (owned by a friend of hers). She called ahead and aksed her friend to help me find my own first and second pair of heels. And then they both insisted I head back to the Lady Grace store to show off my legs in heels to the woman who ended up helping me transform in my earlier dressing years.

  Her name is Lois. And athough she retired several years ago, she still keeps in touch with me. She actually sends me a little gift every Christmas, and it's always something firm and girly.
  Lois actually went to dinner with me the first time I went out en femme seriously. Of course I had made those occasional drives in the evenings all dressed and sheepishly getting gas, or taking a walk on a barely lit street.
  Our dinner was her way of saying it was time for me to be brave. Even before that outing, she would have me come to her store almost weekly to let me know what was new from Lady Grace.

  Oh My how WONDERFUL!!! I have known that the salesladies at Ladygrace were good and very understanding (based on comments here on EP) But this is even more encouraging!!! CANNOT WAIT to visit. Any suggestions about which store(s) are the best in the chain for us Gurlz?? Do they have some "protocols" like coming at particularly slow times, or calling ahead etc?? Some of the store here in the Phila area have request like that

I luv an open bottom girdle. They feel so smooth and sexy. I like the feel of the tight satin across my rear when wearing one

There are some definite advantages to girdles, but they have gotten a bad rap over the years. Foundation oriented undergarments can be rather sexy.
