Writing Is My Life

I love to write more than anything else. It's not just a passion, it's a compulsion. I write down everything and nothing, every little thought or insight, every emotion. I like poetry and free writing the most; I can not be bothered with form or coherent plot lines. I just write what I'm feeling in the best way I know how, I let it all flow out. It's all very natural to me as I have been writing in a journal since I was about 11 years old.

Writing emerged as a childhood passion -- and always woven in the fabric of my life. Now, many years beyond those dawning moments when I began to read and write from the cherished corners of my life. Education insisted on guidelines, limited lines, indented lines and acceptable and approved format -- always squeezing the pulse of life out of words, but never extinguishing that flame of desire and hope to boldly write again and again..<br />

The scraps and bundles of poems and stories call out from their "storage" container - asking to finish and resolve and evolve into all that throbs still within. Put on hold for time prolonged - my pen is freed from the mooring past and confines of critics design. My promise to those those thoughts stored and those that erupt into the now of each moment --we'll explore together those words and captue the meanings longing for ex<x>pression.<br />

Yes, fellow writers of all ages -- I understand --

I can totally relate to this:)

I write all the time too! It IS a compulsion!!! hahaha I have also written in a journal and wrote poems since about 10. yay :D Sometimes I do forms and style based, but a lot of the time it is just free stream of consciousness style flow. It is very therapeutic I think. I love it. I am glad I am this way I am glad there are others like you too! I want to celebrate us. :D It is a special thing to me. I get so inspired and compelled to write something down at times that I will write on anything I can find, napkins, scraps of paper etc. I love it though. I guess I hope it is something that makes me a little unique and special and I like honoring my thoughts and creativity.
