From Within

Have you ever seen a sunrise

while lying on the beach

Have you ever went to touch it

but it was just out of reach

Have you ever listened closely

to the song the ocean sings

Have you ever felt the hapiness

the sea can often bring

These are things I remember

from a time that has long passed

Happy moments in history

that for me will always last

It brings me joy just looking back

upon those crazy years

At all the laughter and the pain

I even shed some tears

Never from my mind

will those times be erased

For it is within myself

that true trust has been placed
