Nobody could live without trees.  That we all know.  They provide us with oxygen.  That's a good reason for gratitude.  And care.  They are friends and allies on a planet that struggles to survive.

So many animals simply wouldn't be there without them.  How many birds would be left without the shelter they provide?  Trees are generous.

Trees are big flowers.  Without any assistance their leaves sprout and they change from skeletons into big bouquets of all shades of green or brown.  Some of them blossom generously every year like brides in the spring.

Above all they move me because they don't speak, though their leaves whisper in the wind telling secrets that can't be told.

Above all they move me because they don't move.
