I Refuse To Buy New

When I can get the same thing at a used bookstore or on amazon.com for cheaper? I don't mind.

I agree. Books are like people. It's what's on the inside that matters. I don't mind the cover being a little worn, or the pages a little yellowed- in fact I find it oddly endearing. I don't think I'll ever understand those who insist on paying full price just so that they can have something new. Don't misunderstand me... I sometimes buy new books from places like Barnes and Noble or Borders, but I prefer to buy used books when I can. They have more character, they cost less, and- as buying used books is a form of recycling- they're better for the environment. Besides, you're going to read the same story regardless of whether you're holding a new book or a used one. Why pay more for the same experience?
