Bleeding Wolf

Stirring now..The forest sleeps
Checking the wind for the one I seek
Tonight I hunt but not for food
I have had my fill..since the last moon
She is cunning and moves outside human boundaries
Seen her kills
I have seen her bounties
She hunts my kind
Blood lust she has
She appears to be human
As a human she will not pass
Was a time I watched over her as she slept
That time is gone
We've one thing left
She's taken another wolf..from upwind
I am loosing blood
I will never hunt again
My heart had once howled
All that is left
Is a quiet growl...
In my ears...not my growl beating like drums
It's the scream of the witch with no where to run
This day... I did not hunt alone
With me are my  two sons ...both full grown
I did not plan to die on this day
I am proud of my sons and I can pass this way
The witch too will rest in this place
We two have died...others will stand to fill our space
