April Shower

Sing your song, pretty April shower,
Cooling the air with your watery words.
Dance with the wind, little April shower,
Stepping the winds of those chirping birds.

Behold little drops, there the lightening flashes,
drop down fast and hide under the trees,
Fall on those leaves, smiling up to you greeting,
waiting so long for this mutual feast.

Don't forget the flowers, the roses and the daises,
kiss their petals too.
Just leave a drop on the palms of the children,
holding a hand out the window to you.

Splashing over the grass and the valleys,
I wish you could stay till May.
Hey, don't stop, happy April shower,
Let's forget the sun and play for a day!
