Pot Roast Is 86'd

Do you know why we refer to things that are done as 86d? if you have ever worked in the restaurant business whenever there is nothing left of something like for instance pot roast or another food item it is referred to as 86. The reason behind it is because people used to jump off the 86th floor of the empire state building when they were trying to kill themselves. Pretty morbid, huh?
