I Just Learned The Coriolis Force Does Not Affect Your Sink Drain

I am 72 years old and just learned for the first time that the Coriolis force does NOT cause your sink to drain counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern. The force, while real is so faint that the shape, and any imperfections therein and any motions induced in the water by filling or pulling the plug will easily overcome any from the Coriolis force. I had long been skeptical about this because tiny size of the drain compared to the Earth seemed to call for a very tiny force. My thanks to my friend JulieGirlie for asking a humorous question about pigs' tails and the Coriolis Force I finally did a little bit of research in the Great Wiki as well as a couple of other sites and found the Coriolis Force does exist and does affect artillery shells fired a great distance (like the Germans' Paris Gun of WWI firing at a range of about 75 miles/120km) and wind and ocean currents it does not affect sinks --- unless they are perfectly circular, have a very small plug removed from the bottom and you have let the water settle for 24 hours or more.
