Swoops - the Front Street Attack Bird In San Francisco

Posted June 17th, 2009 at 2:07AM

We first met 'Swoop,' San Francisco's very own Front Street Attack Bird, today at lunch and again on a mid-afternoon coffee break. For those of you that don't know, 'Swoop' attacks passerbys on San Francisco's Front Street -- apparently as they get too near a tree where it has nested. Much to our enjoyment (and that of the other dozen or so onlookers), Swoops picks a new victim every minute or so, providing simple laught-out-loud entertainment not seen since the days of Candid Camera and America's Funniest Home Videos.

Here's a video of a couple of 'attacks' by Swoops, the Front Street Attack Bird, as I captured them today. Enjoy and please pass along to your friends for a good laugh!
