Which Way Is Up???

About an hour and a half from where I live now (near Orlando, Florida) is a small town called Lake Wales.  It's a nice little town just off Highway 27 in Polk County, Florida.

I have lived in central Florida for over 30 years, most of those years I lived in an even smaller town than Lake Wales called Lake Placid (which was named after the city in New York by the man who invented the Dewey Decimal System, Melville Dewey).  Nearly everyone who lives in that area is aware of a place called "Spook Hill".  I've visited it twice, and it is one of the most interesting places I've ever been...or at least the place where one of the most interesting & weirdest things I've ever experienced occurred.

You can google Spook Hill, Lake Wales Florida to read about it, but it seems that at Spook Hill, the law of gravity has been repealed!

Spook Hill is located on N. Wales Drive in Lake Wales.  When you park your car at the lowest part of the road before it begins to bend uphill again, and you put your car in neutral, it rolls UP the hill...yes, I said that right, the car rolls UP Spook Hill.  It is one of the oddest things I have ever seen!

I know that there is some sort of a scientific explanation for why this happens, but it's just fun to enjoy the ride UP the hill!

I also know that Spook Hill is not the only place on earth where this happens, but it still intrigues me to this day!

True story, and one of the weirdest facts I know!!
