I'm 20 and love alcohol. I'll be 21 in July and I'm scared. Knowing I wont have to count on anyone to get alcohol drinks for me and I might really get out of control is so real to me. No one in my family know I love to drink but my sister know one of my favorite alcoholic beverages is WINE. I feel like wine cures everything, my thirst, my problems, and my health problems.

    Just learn how to drink in moderation and pace yourself and set a limit of how many glasses you drink on any given moment. Don't be scared ... just a little responsibility now and then. I know I was scared too ... because I love Screwdrivers and I often drank 3-5 glasses a day when I was your age ... until a friend and I pair up together ... I buy one round and you buy the next and we stop right there. Try that ... its works for me.

    Even tho I've been drinking since I was 13 I've been noticing now I am drinking more and more everytime I drink... Now I'm 18 and I believe I'm an alcoholic and I'm not even 21..

    It seems like there's more of a desire to want something when you can't have it. Where I live, the legal age is 18, and unfortunately, many people start before then too. When I was younger I thought that I'd go nuts after turning 18, I had my first drink at 15, but the hype dies down fast. I hope in your case that the novelty will where off like it did for me. I don't see anything wrong with having a few glasses of wine on a Friday night. Or if you absolutely have to, one glass on a weekday. Just try not to get too carried away, everything is better in moderation :)

    I agree with GallanPursuit. Don't be so scared :) And don't think you are the only one... I think that legal age to drink is more a question of culture. Where I live, you "can" drink since you have 18. That doesn't mean that, unfortunately, many kids do not do so before.
