My View This Weekend

This past weekend was the first ski trip of the year. Usually the trip's highlights include massive hangovers, ski bases marred with rock scrapes and extremely sore muscles. While the muscles were, and still are a bit sore, the hangover was actually pretty mild because the scenery and conditions were just amazing. We skied harder than I could remember and were just to damn tired to party. While pictures of the participants are classified to protect the innocent I can show you a little bit of the weekend - entirely G rated.

The day started with this view

Then I saw this

I knew the day was going to be pretty special

It was a little hard to concentrate on the path ahead

A hot coffee, bear claw and a pair of skis were all I needed that morning. I sat here for awhile just taking it all in

Coffee is gone, bear claw demolished and the trail was beckoning, I had to take one last look.

Days like these I wonder why I'm living in the city. Imagine waking up to this everyday. Ahhh - to dream. I think I'll be back next weekend.

Well I thought I didn't want Summer to end but now that I have seen these photos my legs are suddenly aching for some planks on their extremities. lol We have been living in the mountains for the past 8 years and I just realized that we are starting to take them for granted. :(
