I Love World War Two Aircraft

i have always been a fan of what we now call the war birds. I was
just a small chile during the war(ww2) .but none the less growing up i heard and saw so many of the holly wood depictions of the flying tigers and
coming in on a wing and a prayer.and in the 50s they ran those ww2 films on tv all the time.when i was older
i built flying models of the p-47 and f51 mustang.even a mitchelle b-25 bomber. it flew pretty well to..
a few years ago the confederet airforce flew into our local airport in a vintage B-17 bomber. i was thrilled to be
fortunate to see it in flite.it is/was a beautiful aircraft. the picture above is of a b - 29 super fortress built by boeing .
it is the same type of aircraft that dropped the atom bomb on japan. it was called enola gay.named after the pilots mother.
the top picture is a martinB-26 maurader. the next one is a douglas B - 24 Libarater. These were used widely in all theatres of the war.
The middle picture is a B 17 Bomber. these were used by the thousands to bring the German
production of war materials to a halt.
