Remembrance Day

The crows with black wings fly
The stone gleaming under fires flickering flame
Abandoned as memories

Charred and deafened mind
Still a candle burns for comrade lost

Reunited and returned to ashes
Six feet of abandoned shells
Upon the grass absent among the clouds

The sound of gunfire lingering
And muttered words of mourning
Heal fast! Brave soldiers lie
