Just Started Yoga And I Love It!
I just started yoga a couple of weeks ago and it's already been totally beneficial. I always thought yoga sounded way too airy fairy, but once I tried it, it wasn't that way at all. I tend to carry all of my tension in my neck and shoulders and so I have chronic neck and shoulder pain. After doing yoga one time the pain disappeared. It's back today, but that's because I haven't done yoga for a couple of days. I also had a horrible headache after my first practice, which was actually a good thing because it meant my body was releasing a lot of toxic sludge. I was having a really stressful week too, and it just melted my stress. I've been doing it almost every day since I started and I'm hooked even though I'm pretty bad at it at this point. I have to take frequent breaks because I can't hold the posture for the entire time, particularly with downward facing dog. That looked like a pretty simple pose until I tried it and found out how hard it is and how much strength is involved. I've also found that that particular posture really makes my hands hurt so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I can't wait to get better at this!
