It's Not As Hard As You Would Think.

After moving I didn't have any cultures, so I had to start from scratch. I went to the grocery store and bought a bottle of name brand raw kombucha that showed lots of mother culture in it.

Removed the lid and let it get to room temperature while I brewed some green tea... Gallon of water, 4 packets of green tea, 4 packets of my favorite flavored tea, a cup of sugar. Cover the bottle with a paper towel or cheese cloth and secure it to the bottle and then let it sit in a sunny place but not necessarily in direct sun light though.

It takes almost a month for the first batch to get strong enough and the culture to get vary big. I usually keep 3 gallons brewing on the shelve and 1 in the fridge.

It's not hard to do, but it is doable.
