...and the Love of My Life!!!

My husband was/is the best first love I could have ever hoped for. We fell deeply and hopelessly in love only a week or two after we started dating, and within the month we both knew that we wanted to be married. Of course, we didn't tell anyone at the time except our closest friends, because I was seventeen and he was eighteen- our parents would have flipped if we'd mentioned it!
Andrew had already planned to go to an out-of-state university before we'd started dating, so we dreaded the day he would leave, but during the summer we spent nearly every day together, building our relationship and sharing some beautiful new experiences. On our three-month anniversary, Andrew gave me a promise ring. He had told my parents it was only a promise not to date anyone else while he was away, but between us it was a sign that we were serious about what we intended.
At the end of September, Andrew left for college. Since we were still in a very young stage of our relationship, it was really hard on both of us. Luckily, we got to talk every day on Skype. He finally returned for Christmas break with news that I considered great: he hated the university, and for more reasons than the fact that he was halfway across the country from me! He decided to spend the rest of the school year at his internship and start up at Boise State in the fall. We were both delighted.
Finally, my eighteenth birthday rolled around, and Andrew decided it was time to break the news to my parents. I still remember the looks of shock on their faces when he said the word "marriage". But after wielding a very thorough and pessimistically calculated spreadsheet showing how I would be supported, Andrew managed to get my dad's blessing, and he proposed to me just after Valentines Day 2006.
We've been married for nearly two months now and still have a great time together. I'm happy to say that I woke up to the very same man the morning after our wedding. He hasn't changed an inkling; he's still the most incredible man I've ever met and our relationship is so strong. I look forward to all the years we have ahead together.
