What Do The Colors And Images Mean That I See During Meditation?

I have recently begun to practice daily meditation. I see colors during meditation and wonder if they have any special meaning. I have also seen images and wonder what meaning they have.

This is how I practice:
Sit in an open position. Hands resting upon my lap palms up. Breathing by inhaling through my nose and put my palms cupped upon my face with my fingers touching towards the center between my eyebrows as I inhale. Then as I exhale blowing out through my mouth I blow my cupped hands outward stretching my arms outward and off to the sides with hands still cupped. I repeat all this three times. Then continue the breathing while sitting still hands resting upon my lap palms up and eyes closed, I listen to the sounds of my surroundings. I identify what each sound must be. I continue to do this as my hearing becomes more acute. Hearing sounds I might not otherwise have noticed. This calms my mind to keep my mind from wondering with other thoughts. Now more focused I do the following:

  1. Twice per day at 24 repetitions it is very old from Asian grandmasters

  2. Simply breath in and out through the nose no break in-between the breath as long as possible then focus lightly in-between the eyebrows until any sensation arises

  3. Next generate a cool feeling at that center then inhale that cool feeling towards thecenter of your brain on the inhale then you exhale look slightly upward and allow the feeling to arise to the top of the head then repeat for 24 reps and feel the coolness

  4. This method awakens the dormant potential of the brain once held very secret to the Taoist

  5. Do this with a full heart

I always feel cool in temperature, calm and serene. At the end my palms are warm and I feel a sensation that is like energy from them.

I continue:

  1. Do the breathing, inhaling through my nose and put my palms cupped upon my face with my fingers touching towards the center between my eyebrows as I inhale. Then as I exhale blowing out through my mouth I blow my cupped hands outward stretching my arms outward and off to the sides with hand still cupped. I repeat all this three times.

  2. Then I put my palms together, rub them up and down still doing the breathing, and wash them up over my face upward and to the back of my head to the nape of my neck during the exhale. I do all this three times.

My palms become very warm and the energy from them is intensified. It all feels very good.

When finished I sit longer to meditate:
Asking the universe to open the way, to prepare the means, the time for things to come is now. Fill my life with love and kindness, abundance and acceptance, and I continue on from there asking for what I most yearn for eventually coming full circle asking the universe to open the way, to prepare the means, the time for things to come is now.

As I become immersed in all this, I do catch myself in quietness (my mind becomes quiet) and no longer doing the breathing. After, as I look around me I notice colors around things. Energy, I think? Is that natural?

Colors and images I see during meditation:

In the day at the center of focus is what appears to be a ball of red with green around it and a warm golden color that emits around that. As the focus grows clearer the red seems to form into a heart shape and the green turns to a sky blue with still the warm gold glow around it. In evening, I see purple that is more magenta in color with the point of focus like a black hole and as it becomes clearer there is a red center. There were also little flashes of green, some as lines, not straight, that where actually blue in color yet not many.

Now in the evenings there is often an image of a left eye that at first floats and is blue in color.

Sometimes at the center of focus appears to be a diamond shape, but as it becomes clearer it is actually a triangle that has a reflection of itself below it. That is why it seems as though it is a diamond shape at first. The triangle is in color that same warm gold with the same glow around it. The top of the triangle is lifted from the top releasing more of the golden light. In between the raised triangle and its base is blue (sky blue) that when becomes clearer is a shape of an eye that is neither left nor right. Eventually, the whole image rises up and stops.

I know I ask many questions. I have no one else of whom to ask about all this. Know your feedback and/or helpful guidance is most appreciated.

it could be energy, it could be a projection of the mind. most masters i have read warn against giving too much significance to your experiences--enjoy them, but don't spend too much time in interpreting their meaning, as the mind is very imaginative and clever and apparently can project just about ANY experience. this especially helps if you hit and edge and the mind produces something disturbing--you've already adopted a stance of ignoring the projections of the mind. hope this is helpful. pranams, =)k another simple, meditation to try--go to ishakriya.com it's free guidelines into a very deep state"
