Little Eyes That Say So Much

I work with families and kids of all ages.  The deepest feelings come from the children who don't say much, but tell me a story with their eyes.  Almost a window to their heart.  I want to hold them, stroke softly their cheek and smile widely or even feel my eyes begin to water.  Sometimes I feel their essence and speak to the parents and use my words to offer new hope. Sometimes it is the parents that give me their essence as if a small child was trapped in this huge adult body.  I see them in almost the same as the first discription, trying to repsectfully, gently inviting the child within find a place of safety and rest even if it is the short time of our meeting.
