Hail To The ChiefI am one of the many people with Aspergers Syndrome. People with this learning disability. One of my characteristics is that I focus my attention around specific subjects. Most people with Autism or Aspergers may focus thier attention on dogs or subway routes. For me, I have an interest in the US Presidents. Back in 2004, my then-Township Commissioner found out about my Presidential interest and made it possible for me to shake hands and get my photo taken with then-President George W. Bush. It wasn't at the White House (to this day, I have yet to set foot inside the White House); instead, it was at a hotel on DC's Connecticut Avenue, in which later he would address supporters of his 2004 election.
And what was it like shaking hands and getting my photo with the US President? It was very much simmilar to that scene in "A Christmas Story" in which Ralphie meets Santa Clause: I'm quickly ushered into a room with the President, I pose with the President, and as soon as the camera flashes a picture with the both of us, I'm just as quickly ushered out the other end of the room.
