Though i manage to convince myself that i am better off alone, that i need nobody, better alone than hurt...sometimes, i just cant bear feeling so empty inside. its like my heart is barely beating. Now i would take willingly the hurting part for my heart to beat again.

LoverFollower, I understand only too well that pain. What’s better, the loneliness of avoiding love, or the heartbreak of love that leaves you?

i used to feel the same way. i have found that opening my heart has made me feel so alive! it is a bit frightening, but it also feels great to know that you have so much to lose:) meaning that as in you may have never had it before OR some people don't have it at all.

For I am new to this place, this experience is my other half. At my job, while I workout, cook and sometimes talking to could be loves I ache for it. I've contemplated this very thing many times and being "strong" is sometimes not a big enough suppresant. There is no replacement for it. The path you choose after this initial feeling, during or the longing for it, is to make the best of the current situation. Everyone deserves love and that spark it gives the soul but I think the trick is to find that spark in other things. Seems like you've weighed your options, the hurt is a long heal. Sometimes longer than the love itself.

I have always said... If i would have a choice: Love for a day and be in a heartache for the rest of my life or Not to love at all! I am positive i will choose the first one. To love, even for a day...

I don't say that its right to throw my love around like candy, but if i find a person, a special person, who everything in me loves, then no material obstacle will stop me from loving her, even when i would only have her for a day.

To me, the greater courage lies in trusting your emotional fate to someone else ... and the act of two people sharing the same trust makes them stronger both individually and as a unit.

I haven't had that feeling for a while, but I would gladly experience the initial fear and uncertainty, for the pleasure of mutual love. And, if it didn't work out in the end, at least I had it for a while.

Thanks Soulmambo! its been a while since i wrote that story. I said i would take the hurt to find love again but what i didnt expect is that even if i made my choice, even if i decided to open my heart again...i couldnt make my heart love again...its like when you cant make an engine start. it is frustrating and the void is still there.
