My Story

My boyfriend and I have been together almost two years now. Five years ago, he wrote a bad check to Publix, and they pressed charges. He wasn't made aware of it at all...his case file even says that his warrant was never served. He was pulled over the following year for a broken tail light, and was arrested for the warrant. He was put on probation for a year, and released. Spent about 12 hours in jail at that point. Well, he never finished his probation...and just like a man, ignored it, hoping it would go away. Of course it didn't. He lost his job, and wasn't able to get another on because of the Violation of Probation warrant put out on him. We finally got to a point in our relationship where I basically told him "take care of it or I'm leaving", and he realized he HAD to take care of it. So, he turned himself in, thinking he'd have first appearance, have his probation reinstated, and come home. That was February 2nd. At first appearance, the judge told him he had to stay in until his hearing...on March 18th. 45 days doesn't seem like a lot, especially when some of you have been apart from your boyfriends for a lot longer, or will be apart from them for even longer, but it's a LONG time for us. It's killing me. We have four children between us, and of course they all want to know where Daddy is. How do you explain that to a five, three or two year old? The oldest is nine, and he knows what's going on. Anyway, that's my story.
