I Miss My Dad
I'll never be him. He was so loving, understanding, fair, and accepting. He hated the fact I joined the Army, yet you would not have ever known. I joined during peace (late 90's), and he didn't want me to become "experienced" in death, but the wars of the 2000's changed that. He still loved me and guided me through the early years of fatherhood. We lost him in June of 2010. It was sudden, no time to prepare, just grieve. All my war experience never prepared me...my anchor was/is gone. I love you dad, and live to make you proud. Thank all of you for sharing you pain so we van all move on to happier places.
