Is It Really Been That Long!!

I can't believe that it has been almost 11 years since I lost my father. It seems just like yesterday when it all happened. His passing was so sudden, with no warnings. In one moment, my life was shattered, broken, changed. Nothing was like before. We had to leave the country I grew up in because he was sponsoring us, and since he died, our residency visas were terminated. So not only did I lose my father, I lost my home, my friends, my school, but most of all, my sense of security.

My father was everything in my life, he was the most compassionate, understanding, and fun person I have known. Due to circumstances, my mother had to travel for extended periods of time, so it was the two of us. He was my mother and my father. He taught me how to depend on myself to figure things out. He even endured my attempts on cooking, tolerating my burned chicken, rubbery cakes, and crazy experiments on creating new recipes :) ( I am a much better cook now:)).

I miss him so much, and although I am a grown up now, there is still this little girl who needs her daddy. Many times, I envied my older sister, he got to see her graduate highschool and college. He was with her on her wedding, he held her first born, things that I never experienced or will never experience with him. The pain of losing him is always there. That sense of saftey, knowing that your father is there to take care of things is forever gone, and no one else can replace it. I love you and miss you daddy, I miss your hugs when I am scared, I miss your encouraging words when I get frustrated, I miss your jokes when I am feeling sad. You will forever be my hero.
