I Miss My Dog
ok i can hear you say it why call a dog trashbags? when i got him i had bought him a nice padded bed and put it in the kitchen ,i had another dog at the time a big alsation called Reb who was not pleased to be sharing the house with this annoying fluffball. so i put the puppy in the kitchen and closed the door to keep him safe. in the night i heard noise but as ive had dogs for years i just ignored it so not to give the pup attention. the next morning i woke up to find a reck! floor lino ripped and chewed ,cupbord door chewed and new bed in tatters. where was the puppy ? he had pulled over the kitchen bin and was fast to sleep in there! so out went the name barney and renamed trashbags .
today 13 years later is a hard day for me ,its one year today that i had to get my best pal put to sleep as he had started to develop the dog verstion of altsimers and was becoming very confused and his house training was slipping .i decided to do it when in the first stages so he didnt have to suffer. i supose i should admit a part of me was selfish and i just could not watch him become ill after being such a great dog. he was a dog that would always know when you need a hug (in the dog way) .a dog who was never ready to back down from bigger dogs in the park. and a dog who was always ready to share a beer (well the odd drop). i miss him and my dog reb but wanted to pay a tribute to him to mark this first year of his passing.
