I Miss My Mother
I remember so much about my mother . She was a houskeeper in the South in the 40s, there were 4 of us kids, I the oldest.
She took me with her we live in the houskeeper house, on their property.My sibblings lived with our aunt, while my mother work . She help support her sister and her family also she had a big responsiblity. my mother died when I was 10 years old, I was a confort to her when she was sick. I was a strong child, I had to be her sister was not a strong person.. Some of the good things she gave me was a gift of water, swiming, there was not a pool for African American where i lived in the South, so she took us to the pond.. We had our little sunsuits on and proceeded to dog paddle in the water. I loved it.My sibblings did not though.
It has been 65 years scince mother died, sometime i wonder if I am not stuck in the past, because i think of her olmost every day
i talk about her a lot, after all these years, my memories are so fresh.
