She's been gone for just over a year now. She died in a house fire that I survived. I feel guilty everyday. I tried to stay home so I could spend time with her. My friend convinced me not to cancel our plans. If only I was home, I could have saved her.

    Or died too! It's no help to hear it but your mother would be glad you werent there, and def wouldn't want you to feel guilty.
