My mom died on 6/20/07.  She was 46 going to be 47 in November.  I am 26 and have 2 young children.  I feel completely lost.  I talked to her 5-6 times a day and saw her everyday because she watched my children while I worked.  She took Enbrel for her arthritis, which weakens your immune system.  On Friday 6/15 she felt sick and by Sunday 6/17 she was on a ventilator.  I never got to talk to her again. She has pneumococcal pneumonia, ARDS, Kidney failure and sepsis. It all happened so fast, I talked to her on Thurs 6/14 and she was fine.

On Wed. 6/20 we had to make the decision to take her off the ventilator because she wasn't getting any oxygen to her brain.

I miss her so much it hurts.  She always told me it was her and I against the world and now she is gone.

Our Mom died on July 15, 2006, from complications of taking Enbrel and lung cancer. As in your case, we had to make the wrenching decision to take her off the ventilator. We were told that she might live for 3 hours ... however, she survived for three days. Tough to go through, but we were all there, and did the best we could.<br />

We miss her each and every day... she was so special.
