I Miss Her Every DayA lot of people don't realise how important siblings are - or get close to them - until later in life. I did. Although family life was not perfect and we didn't always see eye to eye, by my teens, I was closer to my sisters than my friends. My oldest sister was like a parent to me: protective, comforting, wise, wonderful.
When I was 19, I was given the news that my sister had died.
It was sudden and to this day I can't comprehend.
I miss my sister. Her love, her guidance, her voice at the end of the telephone.
And I miss the family that I grew up with.
