I Miss My Son Who Passed Away
This something I wrote yesterday, but wanted to share it with all of you today. God's Blessings to all of you!
TWC is reporting that Hurricane Issac is weakening, but still packing a punch.
As I have listened to the news, and watched the hurricane progress throughout the southern states, I have spent a lot of time reflecting on my family and life. Can you imagine the fear that this man and little boy felt as they were holding on for dear life? When does it stop being fun and then become terrifying?

It is so easy to get caught up with your day to day problems, and loose site of the day to day blessings you have had in your life. I was reading live blogs that were being posted, and came across one from a soldier in Afghanistan asking for prayers for his family as they were caught in the hurricane in New Orleans. I can't imagine the frustration and inability he must be feeling right now. He is on the other side of the world, watching and praying. This is personal....this is not just a news story. This is affecting people all over Mississippi and Louisiana.

I live in Shreveport and at this time, we are expecting wind and rain. I am a transplant from California via Texas to Louisiana. I have seen the ground shake and slept through it, I have watched tornado warnings, and now I have watched the Hurricane. In all of these circumstances, my thoughts go to my family and how much I love them.
Do you have Hurricane Blessings?
I am sure that all of us are thankful everyday - at least I would like to believe that I am. But during times like this, I am reminded that all of the blessings I have had in my life have come from God. Not man. I lost my son 21 years years ago. My blessings are the things that God has given me. Man can take away your possessions, your job, even your family. But...the things of God....the memories, the hopefulness and the love that is engraved on your heart can never be taken away from you. You can choose to let them go, but they cannot be taken away.
Hurricane Reflections
I think this is a time that we should all reflect upon our lives. Are we doing what we want to do? Are we living, or are we surviving? Do we spend the time we want with our families? Do we dare to dream?
