I Miss The Way Things Used To Be
Me and my best friend hit a bit of a rough patch over the last year, fortunately we're back on speaking terms, now i feel the only way to progress and bond like we used to is by taking an interest and becoming enthusiastic about the things he loves, this would not be a problem if it wasn't all about HIS taste in music.
Daniel's only interest is metal and rock but the message behind everything he listens to is something i simply don't believe in, i know that this is important to him and so should be important to me but when you have two people who have experienced vastly different lives and differ greatly on their views and beliefs, how can i pretend to follow this life?
I can't help feel that if i were to invite him to gigs that i enjoy he would turn it down immediately, i'm now in the difficult position of being his ONLY friend and therefore feel extra weight on my shoulders to keep the flame alive.
What would you do in this situation?
